Queued Operations — What is saved while offline

This article lists the operations that Creative Job Hub queues for offline use and describes expected behavior after reconnection.

Typical operations queued while offline

CJH queues the operations users commonly take in the field so technicians can continue working without connectivity. According to the project documentation, the client automatically queues and later synchronizes:

  • Photo uploads (job/property photos)
  • Job updates (status changes, notes, fields)
  • Payment records (retail payments or deposits recorded by technicians)
  • Client notes and other lightweight records

These items are explicitly called out in the project README as automatically queued and synced. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}

Photo & portfolio specifics

  • Photos attached to jobs are saved as attachments and will appear in the Job Portfolio once synced. Because images are large, uploads are queued and rely on network availability — prefer Wi-Fi for large batches. The Job Portfolio aggregates attachments and is searchable by job, client or property. :contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}

Payments & deposits

  • Payments recorded while offline are queued and synchronized on reconnect; the Payments UI supports deposit/estimate-linked payments and will show deposits once synchronization completes. :contentReference[oaicite:6]{index=6}

Behavior on reconnect

  • Success: The client removes queue entries as the server acknowledges success and updates the local view.
  • Partial failures: If the server rejects a specific item, the client typically retains it and surfaces an error so the user or support team can retry or resolve the issue.
  • Ordering: The client generally attempts to preserve the order of operations (e.g., creating a job before adding attachments to it) to reduce server-side errors.

Best practices for end users

  • Keep the app open briefly after reconnecting to allow queued items to upload.
  • If uploading many photos, use Wi-Fi to speed upload and reduce failures.
  • If a queued item repeatedly fails, capture the error details and contact support (see “Sync Troubleshooting”).
